8 Year old “Hyper” exceeds his fundraising target for QE COVID Patients

Harrison Garratt is better known at GDS as “Hyper” is 8 years old, has been training with GDS for approximately 18 months and has already blown away his target of £100 raised for COVID patients at the QE in Birmingham

Hyper is an outstanding young Goalkeeper, dedicated, focussed and always trains with a smile on his face. He trains at our Oldbury Centre and has been on trial at Stoke City FC since Christmas. He also plays for his Halas Hawks U8’s Team.

Hyper has taken on a huge challenge on Sunday 10th May to raise money for COVID-19 patients at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.

Both Hyper’s parents – Will and Hayley work as nurses doing a fantastic job at the QE in Birmingham where there have been working long shifts between them to help out during the current pandemic. Hyper decided that he really wanted to do something to help the patients like his Mom and Dad as well and make a difference.

Hyper’s passion is football and Goalkeeping and he has missed his training and his matches since lockdown. Because of this Hyper and his Dad have come up with a plan to raise money.

On Sunday 10th May between them they will use an exercise bike to cycle to the Stoke City training ground (Halesowen to Clayton) which is 43 miles. When they have completed this Hyper’s Dad Will will take shots at Hyper until 100 goals have been scored past him.

Anybody who knows Hyper will know that he is an outstanding shot-stopper so this may take Will some time!! #insafehands Hyper!!

Hyper’s original target was £100. He has already managed to raise more than £1600 and wants to keep going. His parents, family and friends are blown away with the support he has been given and we at GDS are extremely proud of the young man and are supporting him all the way.

If anybody would like to support this extremely worth cause
