VENUES: We train at two venues one is on a Friday evening which is at the Gospel Oak Sports Centre 19:00 – 20:30, the other is at Rowley Learning Campus on Monday evenings 19:00-20:30
COST: The cost of the course is £70 for 10 weeks. Whenever you start we give you a pro-rata price depending on what week we are on (we keep everybody in line with the weeks to make it easier)
KIT: it is mandatory for all keepers to wear our kit when training at the academy. The kit is just a T-shirt which you can purchase from us on the first day and is £10. There are other items available if you wish but the minimum is a T-shirt.
It is advisable to wear shin pads as they may be involved in a small sided match at the end of the drills.
TRAINING FORMAT: The format of the training over the 1.5 hours will be different every week but structured in the same way. There will be approx and hour of hard working goalkeeper drills. These will be a different topic each week. There will then be some kind of shot stopping or goalkeeping games. Then there will be a small sided match. This is the usual training structure but sometimes we change it around depending on circumstances.
AWARDS: At the end of each session we choose 2 Keepers of the day who win a medal. We also have a Keeper of the month which is from both of our centres.
SAFEGUARDING: Every Keeper has a GDS nickname. We will decide on that on the first day and that will be the Keepers name for all of the time they are with us. We do this for firstly a bit of fun, also to give them a GDS identity but also for safeguarding if ever we post anything on our social media such as player of the day etc.
PARENTS COMMUNICATION: We have a parents WhatsApp group which is used purely for attendance purposes and notifications from us.
