GDS nickname: Gasper
Club: Lane Head Pythons
I joined GDS in June 2017 at Ellowes hall. I think all the coaches are great, Dave is really funny and I love the fact that each week it is different drills and I get to improve different skills all the time. When I first came to GDS I was worried I wouldn’t fit in but I absolutely loved the first session and look forward to coming each week now.
My favourite drill is pyramid because it is great fun and I get to practice my reaction saves. I also enjoy Hexagon because of how fast it is.
You don’t have to worry about getting cold at a GDS session because you are always doing something and you are never waiting around, everyone is always involved in whatever is going on.
For my team I actually play outfield, my favourite outfield position is midfield, I do sometimes play in goal if Jolly ( who also comes to GDS) is either injured or can’t come to the matches, my time at GDS has really helped me with this and my confidence has grown so much. It is my dream one day to play for Manchester United!
What I need to work at: understanding when and when not to come out of goal
My favourite GDS moment: At my first session at the match near the end I scored a really good goal and Dave gave that his golden buzzer. I was then awarded the goalkeeper of the night and I was over the moon.
