We are very pleased to announce that Goalkeeper of the month for May 2018 is Messi.
Messi trains with us on a Friday night at Ellowes Hall and has been with us for approximately 18 months. He started at the very young age of 6 and since then has developed enormously.
Messi is a very natural shot stopper but over the last few months, May in particular it has been apparent that his technique has improved greatly. He has become more and more consistent and he is now beginning to mature and make more informed decisions.
Messi is a very passionate young player and you can see that in all that he does. His effort is always 100% in every session.
During the last few weeks Messi has been training at Charlemont rather than Ellowes and this is due to the fact that he has been spotted by a scout at West Bromwich Albion and he is now trialling there on a Friday night. This is a massive achievement and brilliant experience for him at such a young age and we wish him all the best.
During May Messi has won Keeper of the day more than once and has been in the final numerous times. Some of the saves Messi has made in some the small sided matches at the end of sessions have also been outstanding.
Congratulations Messi – keep up the hard work.
