We are very pleased to announce that Goalkeeper of the month for June/July 2024 is Builder.
Builder started with us at our Saturday morning centre three years ago. He turned up dressed like he was working on a construction site so Builder it was.
Builder was a very quiet and polite young Keeper who was extemely keen to learn and please his coaches. It was evident that he had some natural abillity when it came to football in general but he had a lot of work to do with his technique.
Over time Builder fit very well into the GDS structure and he worked hard putting in 100% effort and was often picked by coaches to win a medal for Keeper of the day. After a while he trained not only at one centre but began to train with us twice a week. This is when his development really began to expedite.
Over the last 6 months Builder has become a very accomplished young Keeper. His shot stopping is outstanding and his footwork and handling is very tidy. He leads by example and often helps with new keepers who join.
During the period in question Builder has been consistently outstanding with his performances in the sessions, his effort and attitude matching, fully deserving of the award.
