We are extremely pleased to announce that Goalkeeper of the month for October 2022 is Sherbet
Sherbet began training with us on a Friday night at Ellowes Hall approximately 4 years ago. When he joined he was a quiet, shy young boy, always very polite and respectful and willing to learn. On his first session he was wearing a bright yellow keepers top (before putting on his GDS shirt) so Sherbet (dip) was born.
During sessions Sherbet has always put maximum effort into whatever he is doing and he listens intently taking on board coaching points to improve his game.
Over the months and years Sherbet has attended week in week out, his technical ability, shot-stopping, confidence and presence have all improved as he has continued to put in the hard work and dedication.
Over the last few months and in particular October Sherbet has really come into his own. He has become very strong, his shot-stopping is outstanding and the quality of his technical game has improved ten-fold. He has been chosen by his coaches to be in the final numerous times, and he is also extremely difficult to score past. Sherbet has also been moved up to a higher group to support his development.
This award is extremely well deserved. Congratulations and keep up the hard work young man.
