We are very pleased to announce that Goalkeeper of the month for January 2019 is Katie.
Katie trains at Ellowes Hall and has been with us for approximately 18 months. When Katie first joined us she was a quiet shy young lady who had a lot to learn with regards to the technique of Goalkeeping.
Katie very rarely misses a session at Ellowes and as the weeks and months went by she showed that she could not only take on board the coaching points given to her during drills and sessions but she could apply them and learn very quickly.
Katie soon came out of her shell at Ellowes and became a fundamental part of the Friday night team. Recently it is apparent that her mature nature shines through as she assists the coaches in the sessions and reminds herself and her fellow Keepers of coaching points, technical elements and is always the first to answer questions.
Over the last few weeks Katie’s technique has improved greatly. She is often chosen to perform demos and help with younger Keepers and she is always the first to help to set up or clear away kit. She has been chosen a number of times by different coaches to be in the final and she has also won Keeper of the night.
Keep up the fantastic work Katie – congratulations
