We are very pleased to announce that Goalkeeper of the Month for July 2021 is Arc.
Arc started with us approximately 18 months ago at our Tuesday night venue at Warley Rugby club and transferred over to a Friday evening at Dormston.
When Arc began with GDS he was very young, with not a lot of Goalkeeping experience and it took him some time to get his head around the drills and the technical aspects of the sessions. But Arc is a very determined and confident young man and likes to contribute to sessions, help the coaches in any way possible such as collecting balls and equipment and also listens intently taking on coaching points.
Over time Arc has attended regularly and gradually his technique and shot-stopping ability has improved to the point where he is now looking like a very able young Keeper.
Over the past few weeks Arc has shown some outstanding work during sessions. He has not only made some excellent saves but his footwork & handling has improved, his presence in goal and positioning has improved but also his confidence in his own ability.
Arc is also starting to show some leadership skills at a young age – he is very willing to help others and likes to try and organise others and he uses his initiative in a lot of situations which is great to see.
Arc thoroughly deserves this award – congratulations and keep up the good work!
